Healthy Connections Community Health Network is seeking Grants Financial Analyst to work with the Grants Team for the Community Health Network.
Healthy Connections Community Health Network is a Mena-based nonprofit organization serving the needs of children and adults throughout the areas we serve. Since its founding in 1998 as a home-visiting program, Healthy Connections has been able to provide much-needed health, dental, behavioral health, and social services to families of every lifestyle.
How you’ll contribute
The GFA is responsible for maintaining financial, accounting and grant support services in order to meet the needs of the organization. Working closely with the other members of the Grant Team and the Program Managers, the Grant Accountant will focus heavily on budgeting, compliance, reporting and variance analysis functions for all grants.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include the Following:
- Perform grant-related post-award functions, including budget and expense analysis, periodic invoicing, financial reporting, labor distribution changes, reconciliations, re-budgeting and grant closeout functions required.
- Prepared to work with Federal, State and Private funding
- Must be able to put together the financial statements for multiple grants (potentially up to 100 grants).
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports on grants for internal management purposes.
- Develop an understanding of all rate methodologies or key components which must be analyzed
- Work with the Grant Administrator, CFO and Finance Team on cash flow forecasts for programs as well as information requirements related to grants.
- Review invoices and provide account codes, when appropriate, for proper accounting.
- Produce budget and expense analysis report for both pre and post grant awards
- Deliver monthly expense reports, variance analysis and reconciliations to the general ledger demonstrating flawless attention to detail and ability to consistently generate a high quality work product
- Prepare and distribute periodic invoices for project reimbursement.
- Review monthly financial results and communicate with appropriate program staff the financial position of the program.
- Coordinate with the Finance Team to process journal entries to various projects if needed.
- Ensure compliance of grants and contributions including but not limited to internal policies/procedures and donor rules/regulations.
- Review transactions for compliance with applicable grant and contract terms internal policies and procedures
- Must be able to manipulate software programs
- Provide explanations and recommendations for variances from budget and discuss with program personnel to ensure their knowledge and understanding
- Provide technical and analytical support for the preparation of the organization’s annual operating budget including providing technical training to Program

Qualifications for this job
- BS in Accounting required. Non-profit accounting experience preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate financial information to different audiences, both financial and non-financial.
- Requires excellent knowledge and understanding of spreadsheet software and general accounting programs. Should have ability to use word processing, excel and accounting software systems.
- Familiarity with Grant Accounting preferable
- Financial accounting software knowledge.
- Independent problem solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
- Post and review journal entries
- Assist in preparation of financial statements and annual audit
- At least 3 years of relevant nonprofit experience
