Healthy Connections Welcomes Laura McDermott, APRN, to the Malvern Teeter Plaza Clinic
Healthy Connections is thrilled to introduce the newest addition to our Malvern healthcare team, Family Nurse Practitioner Laura McDermott, APRN.
As a Gulf War veteran with a profound dedication to community health, Laura brings a wealth of experience and a compassionate approach to primary care and family medicine. She has joined the Malvern Teeter Plaza Clinic, situated at 900 MLK Blvd.
Her journey into healthcare was shaped by a profound desire to make a positive impact on the world. Her commitment to patient care is characterized by building strong and genuine patient-provider relationships. Laura firmly believes in the importance of being authentic, understanding, and caring, as she believes these are the keys to helping patients on their individual health journeys.
McDermott, a New York native, was inspired by a deep appreciation for the motto “Above all, we care.” In her own words, “Caring is the biggest thing that comes with medicine, regardless of degree or title. You have to be real with people to reach them where they’re at, to bring them up to a better level of health.”
McDermott joined Healthy Connections earlier this year and has been seeing patients for primary care/family medicine in Hot Springs and Malvern.

The Malvern Teeter Plaza Clinic offers extended hours, operating from 7:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Alongside Laura, the clinic offers the services of pediatrics physician Dr. Jeremy Porter, Women’s Health Specialist Dr. Pittman Moore, and Evolve Behavioral Health and Medication Management.
Furthermore, the Malvern Pinnacle Clinic, led by healthcare professionals Absalom H. Tilley, MD; Briana Newcomb, APRN, and Gabrielle Williams, APRN, specializes in primary care for patients of all ages, with a particular focus on HIV/AIDS patients and those dealing with addiction and related concerns.
