Healthy Connections, a Federally-Qualified Health Center (FQHC) committed to delivering exceptional healthcare services, is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) Interpreter/Patient Care Coordinator for our location in De Queen, Arkansas. This dual role is crucial for facilitating clear communication between our healthcare providers and patients and coordinating patient care effectively. This position not only requires excellent language skills but also a deep understanding of patient needs, making it a vital link in our chain of healthcare delivery.
Role Responsibilities:
- Interpreter Duties: Provide accurate and timely interpretation and translation of verbal and written communications across various healthcare settings. This includes interpreting via video link for other locations, ensuring precise communication without altering the message content. The role demands a high level of proficiency in both English and Spanish to support all specialties within the healthcare environment.
- Patient Care Coordination: Act as the first point of contact for patients at our De Queen location, handling appointment scheduling, chart preparation, and payment arrangements. This role is pivotal in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring that all necessary documentation and insurance details are correctly processed for each visit.
Key Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree or certificate in office proficiency or business preferred.
- At least two years of experience in a medical office or similar setting.
- Fluent in English and Spanish, with proven ability to interpret and translate in a healthcare context.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with network systems.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to travel to all locations and to participate in meetings outside of the service area.
