Lab Tech/Phlebotomist – Hot Springs Area Float

Healthy Connections, a Federally-Qualified Health Center (FQHC) dedicated to providing exceptional medical, dental, and behavioral health services across Western and Central Arkansas, is celebrating 25 years of community service. In alignment with our three foundational pillars—Community, Compassion, and Excellence—we are currently seeking a dedicated Lab Tech/Phlebotomist to join our team in the Hot Springs area. This position will involve floating to different locations as needed to support our commitment to patient care.

General Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our laboratory operations by maintaining an adequate inventory of lab essentials, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, performing screening procedures, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The role is pivotal in delivering patient care through meticulous specimen collection and handling.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Patient Relations:
    • Perform laboratory functions with a patient-centered approach, ensuring the highest standards of care.
  • Staff Relations/Team Building:
    • Engage actively in internal meetings and educational in-services.
    • Contribute to committees focused on Quality Improvement and Safety.
    • Implement and uphold HCI policies, procedures, and systems, supporting our goals toward achieving high standards of care and recognition such as PCMH.
  • Clinical Duties:
    • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with safety standards.
    • Perform venipunctures and fingersticks to obtain blood specimens.
    • Ensure specimen integrity and maintain quality results by adhering to laboratory protocols.
    • Collaborate with medical personnel to ensure accurate therapeutic monitoring.
  • Qualifications:
    • At least one year of experience in a medical staff position.
    • Certified Phlebotomist.
    • Knowledgeable in HIPAA, medical terminology, and industry safety standards.
    • Willingness to travel occasionally.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with network systems.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
