Healthy Connections Wraps Up Record-Breaking THV11 Summer Cereal Drive with Big Impact

Healthy Connections proudly joined the 2025 THV11 Summer Cereal Drive to benefit Arkansas Foodbank, and the results were nothing short of incredible. Across our many clinic locations throughout Western and Central Arkansas, our employees, patients, and community partners came together in a big way—rallying around the cause with compassion, energy, and a shared commitment to fighting hunger in our communities. Altogether, we collected 3,575 boxes of cereal, which were distributed to local food banks and food pantries to help families and children in need.

This was more than just a donation drive for us. It was a direct expression of our three guiding pillars: Community, Compassion, and Excellence. As a Federally-Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Healthy Connections has spent more than 25 years providing quality medical, dental, and behavioral health services to Arkansans of all ages, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. Our participation in this initiative reflects our core values. We believe that good health begins with access—not just to healthcare—but also to the basic essentials like nutritious food.

Stepping Up Across the Map

The enthusiasm from our team was infectious. Every clinic joined the effort, but we want to give special recognition to some standout contributors:

  • Arkadelphia Clinic led the way with an astounding 1,375 boxes collected.
  • Healthy Connections Pharmacy followed with 714 boxes donated.
  • Malvern Teeter Plaza Clinic came in strong with 468 boxes.

From the River Valley to the Ouachitas and beyond, every Healthy Connections location got involved, proving that when our communities come together, great things happen.

Celebrating a Milestone Year

This year marked the 25th anniversary of the THV11 Summer Cereal Drive, and it was the biggest yet. The drive shattered records, with 576,725 items collected statewide—making a significant impact in the fight against food insecurity across Arkansas.

To celebrate, the Arkansas Foodbank and THV11 hosted the Breakfast of Champions at the Foodbank’s headquarters in Little Rock. The event, which aired live during “The Vine at Nine” with Tom Brannon, honored top teams and contributors from across the state.

Healthy Connections was honored to receive the “Snap, Crackle N’ Poppin Spirit Award”, which recognizes enthusiasm, teamwork, and a powerful commitment to the mission. This award is a reflection of the spirit our team brought to this effort from day one.

“We had so much fun with this cereal drive,” said Jeffrey Slatton, Business Communications and Marketing Manager for Healthy Connections. “Our co-workers really stepped up and took the challenge seriously—some of them made it personal. It was inspiring to see everyone rally around something that means so much to families in Arkansas. We’re grateful to THV11 and the Arkansas Foodbank for leading the charge. Congratulations to all the winners and participants. This is what community looks like.”

More Than Cereal—It’s About Community Health

Food insecurity is a serious public health issue. As a provider of family medicine, pediatric care, senior care, women’s health, addiction treatment, HIV services, behavioral health therapy, and more, we see firsthand how lack of access to nutritious food can affect physical and mental health. Our participation in the cereal drive is one more way Healthy Connections fulfills our broader mission—to improve lives through accessible, compassionate, and high-quality care.

Whether it’s a clinic visit or a cereal box donation, we remain committed to powering our communities through caring connections—not just during health center week, but every day.

Thank You, Arkansas

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to every individual, business, and partner who donated cereal or encouraged others to do so. Your generosity helped us make a real impact.
