Check. Protect. Respect.: A 12-Week Campaign That Changed the Conversation

Healthy Connections has spent the past 12 weeks delivering one of its most important public-health efforts to date: the Check. Protect. Respect. campaign. Built around clear themes each week, the series focused on truth, education, and stigma-free care—bringing HIV and hepatitis testing, prevention, and treatment into an honest, accessible conversation for the communities we serve.

The campaign unfolded in three parts. Check emphasized the power of knowing your status, early detection, and judgment-free testing. Protect focused on real-world steps that safeguard health, including community awareness, prevention tools, and the importance of timely treatment. Respect addressed the stigma that still surrounds HIV, highlighted the role of dignity in healthcare, and affirmed that compassionate, confidential care is available at every Healthy Connections clinic.

Across 12 weeks, the campaign delivered weekly videos, in-depth blog articles, and social media content designed to educate, empower, and normalize the conversation around these critical health services. Each week tackled a different message—from why everyone should get tested, to the importance of early treatment, to the impact that respect and truth have on fighting stigma. Every piece was built to be shareable, simple to understand, and grounded in the care that Healthy Connections has provided for more than 25 years.

Visitors to the Horizons Health Blog can revisit each week’s article, and all campaign videos are available for easy viewing. Together, they tell a complete story—one that reinforces our mission of Community, Compassion, and Excellence and our commitment to providing confidential testing, prevention, and treatment services that help protect the people of Arkansas.

For more information, readers can explore the full 12-week series on the Horizons Health Blog and learn how Healthy Connections continues to support patients through confidential testing, PrEP services, treatment options, and judgment-free care.
