Healthy Connections is proud to announce Kelli Lacefield, Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) at the Mena Clinic, as the recipient of the 2026 BEE Award. The BEE Award recognition highlights healthcare excellence and patient-centered service across Healthy Connections clinics in Arkansas.
The BEE Award — which stands for Be Excellent Every Day — recognizes non-nursing employees who consistently go above and beyond in service to patients, staff, and community, while embodying Healthy Connections’ core pillars: Community, Compassion, and Excellence. This recognition highlights healthcare excellence and patient-centered service across Healthy Connections clinics in Arkansas.
A Culture of Compassion
Kelli joined Healthy Connections in 2025 and has already made a meaningful impact through her patient-centered approach and consistent commitment to excellence at the front desk.
In a nomination submitted by Valerie Cureton, Kelli was recognized for going above and beyond during a patient interaction, showing genuine compassion, kindness, and attentiveness. The experience left such a lasting impression that the patient later returned with flowers and a handwritten card to thank her.
Moments like that are not isolated—they are a reflection of how Kelli approaches every interaction.
Meeting Patients Where They Are
Kelli’s ability to connect with patients is especially impactful for those who may feel overwhelmed in a healthcare setting.
In a nomination submitted by Kim Carson, Kelli was recognized for her patience and understanding while assisting an elderly patient who struggled with the digital check-in process. Rather than rushing the interaction, Kelli consistently takes the time to guide the patient through each step, ensuring understanding while protecting their privacy.
On one visit, when the patient was experiencing difficulty, she specifically asked for Kelli—recognizing her as someone who would take the time to help. The appreciation that followed, including a gesture of gratitude the next day, speaks to the trust Kelli builds with those she serves.
A Leader Among Teammates
Kelli’s impact extends beyond patient care.
In an anonymous nomination, she was described as a dependable resource for coworkers, always willing to answer questions and take the time to ensure others feel confident in their roles. Her willingness to support her team contributes to a positive, collaborative environment across the clinic.
That same patience and clarity carry over into how she communicates with patients, making them feel welcomed and seen from the moment they walk through the door.
Recognizing Healthcare Excellence at Healthy Connections
Across every nomination, a consistent theme emerged: Kelli Lacefield lives out the values that define Healthy Connections and represents the highest level of healthcare employee recognition in Arkansas.
- Community – Creating a welcoming and supportive environment
- Compassion – Taking time to understand and care for each individual
- Excellence – Delivering consistent, high-quality service
Her ability to combine these qualities in both routine and challenging situations makes her a clear choice for this year’s BEE Award at Healthy Connections.
Leadership Recognition
“The BEE Award recognizes the critical role every team member plays in delivering exceptional care,” said Tony Calandro, CEO at Healthy Connections, Inc. “Kelli exemplifies that in how she serves both patients and her coworkers.
