Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with patients to collect blood and non-blood specimens, ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout the process.
  • Implement accurate and efficient lab procedures, adhering to strict quality and safety standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through participation in Total Quality Improvement Plan (QTIP) and Safety committees.
  • Maintain meticulous records and contribute to overall lab operations and institutional needs.
  • Uphold compliance with all laboratory and hospital policies and procedures, including safety practices.
  • Stay actively engaged in professional development by attending safety/infection control training as required.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Phlebotomist.
  • 2+ years of experience in a phlebotomy or related medical role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in patient interaction, creating positive and reassuring experiences.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA patient confidentiality requirements and medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with industry safety requirements and a commitment to upholding safety standards.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to travel occasionally and work collaboratively with a diverse team.
