Key Responsibilities
- Partner with patients to collect blood and non-blood specimens, ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout the process.
- Implement accurate and efficient lab procedures, adhering to strict quality and safety standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through participation in Total Quality Improvement Plan (QTIP) and Safety committees.
- Maintain meticulous records and contribute to overall lab operations and institutional needs.
- Uphold compliance with all laboratory and hospital policies and procedures, including safety practices.
- Stay actively engaged in professional development by attending safety/infection control training as required.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomist.
- 2+ years of experience in a phlebotomy or related medical role.
- Demonstrated expertise in patient interaction, creating positive and reassuring experiences.
- Knowledge of HIPAA patient confidentiality requirements and medical terminology.
- Familiarity with industry safety requirements and a commitment to upholding safety standards.
- Excellent organizational, written, and customer service skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally and work collaboratively with a diverse team.
