National Primary Care Week: Where Healthy Communities Begin

When a child walks into a Healthy Connections clinic for a school physical or a senior stops in to check their blood pressure, they’re doing more than keeping an appointment. They’re taking the first step toward lifelong health—and that’s what primary care is all about.

During National Primary Care Week (October 6–12, 2025), Healthy Connections celebrates the providers and staff who deliver that care every day at our clinics across Western and Central Arkansas. Primary care is the foundation of community health, and for more than 25 years, it’s been at the heart of our mission to build stronger, healthier communities through Community, Compassion, and Excellence.

The Foundation of Wellness

At Healthy Connections, primary care means more than diagnosing illness. It’s about prevention, education, and partnership. Our providers deliver a full range of services—annual checkups, immunizations, physicals, wellness exams, and chronic disease management—for patients of all ages.

Each visit is an opportunity to identify potential health issues early and help patients take control of their wellness. Whether it’s managing diabetes, blood pressure, asthma, or simply maintaining routine screenings, primary care connects patients to better outcomes and a better quality of life.

Care That Grows With You

Healthy Connections is built on relationships. Our patients value having a provider who understands their history and walks with them through every stage of life. That trust and familiarity are what make primary care effective—it’s not just about getting treatment; it’s about building lasting connections that make care personal and consistent.

Our primary care services include:

This is comprehensive, connected care that supports individuals and families—integrating medical, dental, and behavioral health services when needed for a complete approach to wellness.

Accessible, Affordable, and Available Across Arkansas

Healthy Connections operates clinics throughout Western and Central Arkansas, serving thousands of patients each year with compassionate, community-based care. As a Federally-Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we make primary care accessible to everyone—accepting Medicaid, Medicare, ArKids 1st, and most major insurance plans.

For patients without insurance, we offer a sliding-fee scale based on income and family size, ensuring that cost never stands in the way of care. That commitment allows every Arkansan—no matter their background or circumstance—to receive high-quality healthcare close to home.

Powering Communities Through Caring Connections

National Primary Care Week reflects exactly what Healthy Connections stands for: Community, Compassion, and Excellence. Our clinics exist to help people live longer, healthier lives through care that’s local, affordable, and grounded in respect. Every appointment, every screening, and every preventive checkup strengthens the communities we serve.

Primary care is where health begins—and it’s where Healthy Connections continues to make a lasting impact.
