Healthy Connections and the THV11 Summer Cereal Drive are feeding Arkansas, one box at a time.
It’s easy to take breakfast for granted. But for thousands of Arkansas children, a simple bowl of cereal can mean the difference between starting the day with focus and energy—or starting it hungry. That’s why Healthy Connections is proud to continue our partnership with THV11 and the Arkansas Foodbank for the 2024 Summer Cereal Drive.
This week’s campaign theme—“Better Days Start with Breakfast”—reminds us that breakfast isn’t just the first meal of the day. It’s a lifeline. Cereal is shelf-stable, nutritious, kid-approved, and easy to prepare—making it one of the most impactful donations you can give to a child in need during the summer months, when school meal programs are unavailable.
As a Federally Qualified Health Center with more than 25 years of experience providing medical, dental, and behavioral health services, Healthy Connections understands the deep connection between nutrition, wellness, and long-term health. Food insecurity doesn’t just leave stomachs empty—it directly affects school performance, emotional development, chronic conditions, and overall stability in a child’s life.
That’s why we’re doing more than just supporting the cereal drive—we’re helping lead it.
So far, thanks to the generosity and dedication of our staff, patients, and communities, we’ve collected well over 2,000 boxes of cereal across our clinics. And we’re not done.
In the past week, we’ve had amazing community events in Russellville, Hot Springs Village, Arkadelphia, and Malvern brought in hundreds of donations and brought together partners committed to building stronger communities. We’ve seen firsthand the power of people stepping up to help their neighbors.
We’ve now extended the deadline through June 27, giving even more time for people to get involved. You can drop off unopened boxes of cereal at any Healthy Connections clinic location—from Mena to Little Rock and everywhere in between. Every single box goes to help a child start their day with something many of us take for granted: a healthy meal.
When you donate, you’re not just giving cereal.
You’re fueling better days, healthier futures, and stronger communities.
By working with THV11 and the Arkansas Foodbank, we’re making a real difference—and showing that Healthy Connections is more than a healthcare provider. We’re a trusted community partner.
