Summer should be a time for carefree fun, not hunger. But for too many Arkansas children, the end of the school year also means the end of consistent, nutritious meals. That’s why Healthy Connections is proud to be a part of the THV11 Summer Cereal Drive — a community effort to fight food insecurity across our region.
This week, we’re rallying around a powerful idea: Box Hope. Box Nutrition. Box Kindness. Because every box of cereal donated represents more than breakfast — it’s a lifeline. It’s one less child starting their day with an empty stomach. It’s a community stepping forward to say: We care.
Healthy Connections is proud to serve as both a healthcare provider and a committed community partner. With more than 25 years of service across Western and Central Arkansas, we know that health is about more than doctor visits. It’s also about access to food, shelter, and the kind of support that lets people thrive. Through our participation in the Summer Cereal Drive, we’re putting our mission into action — improving lives not only with medicine, but with compassion.
Our clinics are stepping up in a big way. The Malvern Teeter Plaza clinic has already collected more than 300 boxes of cereal — an incredible milestone, and a testament to the generosity of our patients, staff, and community. Across all our locations, our employees – or “Cereal Cap’ns” as we like to call them – are organizing, promoting, and collecting cereal with purpose and pride.
We invite everyone to join this movement. Whether you’re a patient, a community member, or just someone who believes no child should go hungry, there’s a role for you to play. Donate a box. Drop it off at any Healthy Connections location. Share our message. Challenge your friends, your church, your coworkers. Small acts add up — and together, we can make a real difference.
