Meet Taylor Goodwin, LCSW: Behavioral Health Therapist in Mena, Arkansas

Evolve Behavioral Health Services is proud to introduce Taylor Goodwin, LCSW, as the newest member of our team. Taylor brings more than six years of professional experience in community-based mental health to our Mena clinic, located at 136 Health Park Lane. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), she provides individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults, specializing in trauma-informed care, grief and loss counseling, and family support during life transitions such as divorce and co-parenting.

Taylor is deeply committed to helping her patients build resilience and find inner strength. Using evidence-based therapy techniques, she empowers individuals to manage anxiety, ADHD, trauma, and other emotional challenges. Whether working with children processing big emotions, adults struggling with anxiety, or families adjusting to change, Taylor provides compassionate, patient-centered care that fosters lasting emotional wellness.

A Strong Foundation in Mental Health Care

Born and raised in Mena, Arkansas, Taylor pursued her Bachelor of Social Work from Southern Arkansas University and later earned her Master of Social Work with a specialization in Addiction Studies from Arkansas State University.

Now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), she has completed extensive clinical training and licensure requirements, allowing her to diagnose and treat mental health conditions, provide psychotherapy, and implement advanced clinical interventions.

Taylor holds specialized certifications in:
โœ” Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) โ€“ Strengthening parent-child relationships after trauma
โœ” Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) โ€“ Helping patients work through PTSD and anxiety
โœ” Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) โ€“ A research-based approach to treating childhood trauma

At Evolve Behavioral Health Services, Taylor is part of a team committed to high-quality, evidence-based mental health care.

Overcoming Challenges & Building Empathy

Taylorโ€™s personal journey has shaped her career. Growing up with a speech impediment, she learned the importance of resilience and perseverance.

โ€œI do have a speech impediment,” Goodwin said. “My speech therapist growing up is my biggest advocate and she’s just so proud of me.โ€

Her own experiences allow her to connect with patients in a deeply personal wayโ€”especially children who may feel different or misunderstood.

โ€œAdults really don’t say a lot about the elephant in the room, but children do. We get to work on empathy and feel that connection. And once I explain it they say, โ€˜Oh, okay.โ€™ And I can really connect with those who actually do have a speech impediment.โ€

Taylor fosters an inclusive and supportive environment where patients feel safe and empowered to work toward healing.

A Patient-Centered Approach

Taylor believes in treating the whole person, addressing emotional, physical, social, and environmental factors.

“Every patientโ€™s situation is unique,” she explains. “I focus on creating a safe, client-centered space where they feel heard, valued, and supported.”

Her core areas of practice include:
โœ” Helping families cope with grief and loss
โœ” Supporting children through trauma recovery
โœ” Assisting adults in managing anxiety and ADHD
โœ” Guiding parents through divorce and co-parenting struggles

Taylor equips her patients with practical coping skills and helps them build long-term strategies for emotional well-being.

Deep Ties to the Community

Taylorโ€™s commitment to mental health extends beyond the clinic. She has volunteered with:

  • Special Olympics
  • Local domestic violence shelters
  • Community mentoring programs for children

She enjoys spending time with her husband, Brandon, and their mini-Aussie doodle, JoJo, traveling, antiquing, and hosting family game nights.

A Commitment to Excellence

โ€œTaylorโ€™s addition to our team reflects our mission to provide top-quality behavioral health services to the communities we serve,โ€ says Tony Calandro, CEO of Healthy Connections, Inc.
โ€œHer expertise, compassion, and dedication make her an invaluable resource for individuals and families seeking mental health support.โ€

At Evolve Behavioral Health Services, patients receive high-quality, evidence-based therapy in a supportive environment.
