Healthy Connections Surpasses 3,500 Cereal Boxes Donated in Summer Cereal Drive Finale

Healthy Connections capped off its participation in the 2025 THV11 Summer Cereal Drive with a final donation today in Mena, officially pushing the organization past the 3,500 cereal box milestone. This final delivery was made to the Polk County Backpack Program, sponsored by the Mena Lioness Lions Club, during a meet-up at The Ouachitas.

The Summer Cereal Drive, a statewide initiative led by THV11 and the Arkansas Foodbank, provides critical support to children and families facing food insecurity during the summer months. Healthy Connections joined this mission for the second consecutive year, mobilizing its clinics across Western and Central Arkansas to collect cereal throughout June. From our smallest rural clinics to our largest urban locations, staff and community members stepped up to make a difference.

At Healthy Connections, Community is more than a word—it’s our foundation. As a Federally-Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we exist to serve, regardless of a patient’s income or insurance status. That same commitment to serving others drives our support of initiatives like the Summer Cereal Drive. Whether through medical, dental, or behavioral health services—or by donating cereal to feed a child—we are here to meet the needs of the communities we call home.

Compassion, our second core pillar, is what turns healthcare into care. It’s evident not only in how our providers treat patients, but in how our organization responds when our neighbors are in need. The more than 3,500 boxes of cereal donated this summer represent meals, but they also represent understanding, generosity, and kindness—values we hold closely.

This year’s effort reflected the best of what Healthy Connections stands for. Thank you to our incredible staff, our dedicated Cereal Cap’ns, and to every patient, partner, and supporter who helped us reach this milestone. Together, we didn’t just donate cereal—we strengthened the communities we proudly serve.

Healthy Connections has been providing medical, dental, and behavioral health services for more than 25 years across Arkansas. With locations throughout Western and Central Arkansas, we offer compassionate, expert care for patients of all ages—regardless of insurance status.
