Community-first healthcare provider joins THV11 and Arkansas Foodbank to fight food insecurity in Saline County
The THV11 Summer Cereal Drive made its way to Saline County today, stopping at the Kroger Marketplace in Bryant, and Healthy Connections was there once again to make a difference.
With help from our amazing coworkers at the Haskell and Bryant clinics—and a major contribution from our pharmacy teams—Healthy Connections donated enough cereal today to push our running total over 3,000 boxes. The current total? 3,121 boxes. This donation marks another major step in supporting the Arkansas Foodbank during the 25th year of the THV11 Summer Cereal Drive. Since its launch, the drive has worked to fight food insecurity during the summer months—when many families who rely on school meal programs are left with few options.
Why Cereal? Fighting Food Insecurity in Arkansas
Cereal might seem like a simple donation, but it goes a long way. It’s shelf-stable, nutritious, and kid-friendly—making it ideal for food pantries across Arkansas. These donations help bridge the gap for thousands of children and families facing food insecurity every summer.
Healthy Connections believes in showing up where we’re needed most, and that means not just treating patients, but supporting entire communities. From our clinics in Haskell and Bryant to pharmacy team members across the organization, this was a shared effort with one common goal: making an impact.
“Community isn’t just a word for us—it’s our foundation,” said Jeffrey Slatton, Business Communications and Marketing Manager for Healthy Connections. He emphasized that this drive exemplifies what it means to live out the organization’s three pillars of Community, Compassion, and Excellence. “Being able to support the Arkansas Foodbank while standing side-by-side with our coworkers and patients reminds us why we do what we do. We’re grateful to be part of something bigger.”
Healthy Connections: More Than Healthcare
Our participation in events like this reinforces our commitment to Community. Compassion. Excellence. These aren’t just values on a wall—they’re the pillars that guide how we serve. Whether it’s delivering exceptional care, donating cereal, or volunteering time, our team lives out this mission every day.
Shout out to THV11, Tom Brannon, the Arkansas Foodbank, and Kroger Marketplace in Bryant for leading the charge. And a special thank-you to our clinic teams, pharmacy staff, patients, and local businesses who stepped up to contribute. You helped make today a success.
