Rachel Byland, dmd
Doctor of Dental Medicine
“I’m definitely excited to be at Healthy Connections and to work in public health and the opportunity to give back to the community,” Head said. “I’ve been exposed quite a bit to the public health side of dentistry. We had to rotate through FQHC’s (Federally Qualified Health Centers) around Missouri, Wisconsin, and Texas. Arkansas has a great need for these services.”
Head’s mother was a doctor but she became interested in dentistry after a family friend, who was a dentist, allowed her to shadow his work in her hometown of Omaha, Neb.
“I’m kind of an artsy, science person and I like to work with my hands. The best field to get into if you like those things is dentistry,” she said. “There is a lot of artistry involved in the work we do.”
