Rheumatology IS devoted to the diagnosis and therapy of disorders of the immune system. Rheumatologists deal mainly with immune-mediated disorders of the musculoskeletal system, soft tissues, autoimmune diseases, vasculitides, and inherited connective tissue disorders.
Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of internal diseases. Internists are skilled in the management of patients who have undifferentiated or multi-system disease processes.
