Care for the LGBTQ+ community
Pride in caring for our diverse communities

At Healthy Connections Community Health Network, we proudly stand as an ally, advocate and resource for our LGBTQ+ patients and families. We understand that finding welcoming, supportive, and knowledgeable healthcare can be difficult for the LGBTQ+ community. That’s why we have been a leader in LGBTQ+ health in Arkansas for more than 25 years and remain deeply committed to equity, inclusivity, and compassionate care.
Our providers, nurses, and staff receive ongoing training to understand the unique needs of LGBTQ+ patients and provide sensitive, non-judgmental care. We do not make assumptions about gender identity or sexual orientation. Instead, we listen to understand each person fully.
But most importantly, we strive to make Healthy Connections a safe space where LGBTQ+ patients feel accepted, respected, and empowered to openly discuss their health needs without fear of discrimination. We are proud allies, advocates and resources for the LGBTQ+ community and their families. Your health matters to us. Let us support you on your journey.
Inclusive Care
Our mission statement at Healthy Connections is “Improving the health and well-being of the communities we serve with a commitment to excellence in all that we do.” This includes everyone in the communities we serve, especially those who have been historically marginalized. We are committed to being a leader in LGBTQ+ affirming and inclusive care.
We understand that LGBTQ+ patients face unique barriers to care and experience higher rates of certain health conditions due to discrimination and lack of culturally competent care. That is why we strive to make Healthy Connections the safest, most welcoming, and affirming place for LGBTQ+ patients to receive high-quality, compassionate care.
When you come to Healthy Connections, you can expect:
- Providers and staff who use your correct name and pronouns and understand diverse sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions. We do not make assumptions about anyone’s identity.
- Gender-affirming services including hormone therapy and mental health support.
- Providers who specialize in transgender care.
- A safe atmosphere where patients can openly discuss their sexual orientation, relationship status, and health needs without fear of judgment.
- Staff training on providing culturally competent care to LGBTQ+ patients. We continuously educate ourselves.
- Zero tolerance for discrimination of any kind. We welcome and celebrate diversity.
- Gender-neutral restrooms are available throughout our facilities. We understand the importance of safe and comfortable spaces.
- Ongoing efforts to close LGBTQ+ health disparities by improving access, trust, and quality of care. Health equity is our priority.
We are proud to serve the full spectrum of the LGBTQ+ community. Your health and well-being matter to us.

HRT Services
As a trans woman, trans man, or nonbinary person, you may want your body to look and feel differently. You may hope to look as female or male as possible. Or you might just want less obvious sex characteristics. Whatever your goal, we’ll work with you to find the right transgender hormone therapy for you.
You have unique healthcare needs. And you can receive the care you need by finding providers near you who are trained in LGBTQ+ health and who exhibit cultural awareness.
A note about acronyms. Many acronyms are used among LGBTQ+ communities. Healthy Connections uses LGBTQ+: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning. These are used with the understanding that many additional terms can be used to identify someone’s sexual orientation and/or gender identity. The plus sign represents the fact that terminology continues to change and evolve. There are many different variations of the LGBTQ+ acronym, and the ‘+’ acknowledges that it is not possible to list every term people currently use.
