June Employees of the Month

Quicker than The Flash, Healthy Connections presents its June Employees of the Month:

  • WEST: LINDY JUMPER, APRN

  • EAST: VERONICA CANNON, APRN

As Employees of the Month, they are entitled to either a $50 gift card or one day off.

Throughout June, both Lindy and Veronica exemplified our Health Connections three pillars of Excellence, Compassion, and Community.

Lindy is an APRN at the Mena clinic. She also spent much of the month with the Healthy Connections Free Covid-19 Testing Pop-up tour, traveling around the state to test patients.

  • “Lindy is very nice and friendly and will do anything for anyone. She works hard to do whatever she can for her patients.”

Veronica is an APRN normally based at the Arkadelphia clinic. But when a need arose, she filled in at the Malvern clinic and didn’t skip a beat.

  • “Veronica sets a great example for flexibility and good patient care. She is willing to see any patient, is flexible in coverage, works great with the nursing staff, and the patients love her.”

Do you know who should be our next Healthy Connections Employees of the month? You can nominate them at www.healthy-connections.org/nominate.

Healthy Connections Completes More Than 2,000 Free Covid-19 Tests at Pop-up Events

When asked to provide free Covid-19 testing to as many people as possible, Healthy Connections went on a tour of pop-up sites around the state. The result has been more than 2,000 free Covid-19 tests given in 10 different Arkansas counties.

The Healthy Connections Free Covid-19 testing popup tour began on May 21 in De Queen. Since then, the testing tour has held 15 events that included Hot Springs, Hot Springs Village, Little Rock, Benton, Mena, Malvern, Arkadelphia, Nashville, Glenwood, Mount Ida, and Gurdon. The next scheduled event is July 8 at The Centre at Forest Lakes in Hot Springs.

Covid-19 testing is also being done at every Healthy Connections clinic. Copays are being waived for Covid-19 testing done in the clinic. Call 888-710-8220 to schedule appointments. The complete schedule and all testing information can be found at www.GetTestedFree.com.

Healthy Connections is also making Covid-19 testing available to any business that wants their employees tested. This will be done at the company site and will be free for both the company and its employees. Visit www.healthy-connections.org/testus to request testing.

The pop-up testing sites are set up as drive-through events. Patients don’t even get out of their vehicles. Patients report this new Covid-19 test is much easier and less painful than other tests previously given. No insurance information is collected and patients are through the testing area and on their way in just a few minutes. Results from these tests are being received on average in five to seven days.

Healthy Connections clinics are open, safe, healthy, and here for the communities they serve. The Healthy Connections community health network is a federally-qualified health center (FQHC). Healthy Connections and Evolve Behavioral Health both accept Medicaid, ARKids 1st, Medicare, and most private health insurance. There is also a sliding-fee scale for patients without health insurance who qualify. Medicaid patients may be required to switch their primary care provider to Healthy Connections before they can be seen. Learn more about Healthy Connections at www.healthy-connections.org.

Free Testing Returns to Hot Springs Village

Healthy Connections will wrap up the first phase of its mass Covid-19 testing with a pop-up event on Tuesday, June 23 in Hot Springs Village.

The free drive-through testing event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cordoba Center near the West Gate. No health insurance is required or needed. Patients will be tested from their vehicles. This will be the second pop-up testing event held in Hot Springs Village and the 15th overall since the tour began in late May.

This test is the simple test. While it remains a nasal swab, the test is reported by most patients to be painless. See an example of the test and how it is given at www.GetTestedFree.com.

Healthy Connections has tested nearly 2,000 people in 10 counties over the past month. This included a previous stop in Hot Springs Village on May 28. After this pop-up testing event, Healthy Connections will resume its testing tour with a stop on July 8 at The Centre at Forest Lakes in Hot Springs.

Any business that wishes to have Healthy Connections come on-site to mass test their employees can visit www.healthy-connections.org/testus to fill out your contact information. Healthy Connections will then attempt to work your business into our schedule.
