Get Covered: Medicaid Enrollment Help

Get Covered This Open Enrollment: Healthy Connections is Here to Help with Medicaid Applications in Arkansas

The Medicaid Open Enrollment period in Arkansas is here, providing a crucial opportunity for uninsured residents to gain access to affordable healthcare coverage. This period runs from November 1 through January 15. For coverage starting January 1, applications should be submitted by December 15. Healthy Connections is ready to support both new and current patients throughout the application process to ensure access to high-quality, affordable care.

Through the Inflation Reduction Act, many people who apply for health coverage may qualify for significant financial assistance, lowering monthly premiums for Marketplace plans. At HealthCare.gov, 4 out of 5 applicants find plans for $10 per month or less, making this an ideal time to secure comprehensive health insurance. Coverage through Medicaid and the Marketplace includes a wide range of services, from routine check-ups and preventive care to emergency services, prescription drugs, and behavioral health care.

Healthy Connections accepts Medicaid at all our clinic locations throughout Western and Central Arkansas, offering essential medical, dental, and behavioral health services to all eligible patients. Our certified application counselors, also known as Assisters, offer free guidance and are here to help you complete your application and review your options.

October Employees of the Month

Healthy Connections Announces October Employees of the Month: Michelle Miller and Shannon Baloria

Healthy Connections is pleased to recognize Michelle Miller and Shannon Baloria as our Employees of the Month for October 2024. Each month, we honor outstanding team members from both our East and West Communities, selected for exemplifying our core values of community, compassion, and excellence. This month, Michelle and Shannon have stood out for their dedication, professionalism, and positive contributions to their teams.

Michelle Miller, a Radiology Technician at our Mena clinic, has been with Healthy Connections since 2016. She was nominated by her coworkers for her positive attitude, multitasking skills, and problem-solving capabilities. As one colleague noted, “Michelle always has a positive attitude, which is one of her many characteristics. She is a multitasker and a problem solver, always finding ways to help her coworkers and ease their workload.” Another nomination highlighted her dedication to patients and the values she brings to the organization: “Michelle is so kind and is a prime example of our three pillars. She is compassionate about her job, her patients, and shows her excellence through her work. She has completed X-rays and EKGs on myself and my kids, always making us feel comfortable. She is always smiling and helping in the hallways.”

Shannon Baloria, a Medical Assistant at our Hot Springs Village clinic, joined Healthy Connections in 2023. Shannon has made a strong impression on her team with her versatility and readiness to assist wherever needed. Her colleagues recognized her as an essential and dependable asset to the clinic. One nomination described her impact: “Shannon is willing to help any patient in need. She is versatile, working as an RMA at Hot Springs Village, assisting with the lab, and helping at the front desk. Whatever is needed in her clinic, she is there. She has also stepped up to ensure the successful launch of the School-Based Health Center (SBHC) at Jessieville. She is doing it all!”

Employees of the Month are nominated by their coworkers and chosen by Healthy Connections’ senior management team. The recognition process heavily weighs our three pillars: community, compassion, and excellence. As part of their award, Michelle and Shannon will receive a credit to the HC Hub Company Store to select some well-deserved Healthy Connections swag.

Congratulations to Michelle and Shannon for their exceptional service and for making a difference every day. We are grateful for your contributions to Healthy Connections and the communities we serve.
